Camping Outdoors – Five Campfire Meal Recipes you Need to Try

Camping outdoors is fun. You can experience nature, and work up an appetite. And food always tastes better when you have an appetite. Gone are the days of tin food, and packed lunches. Nowadays, people want to cook, show off their culinary skills, and satisfy their palates with amazing food, even while camping outside. Here are five campfire meal recipes that would definitely make your camping expedition, an incredible experience.

1. Ember Roasted Leeks and Corn

Prepare the spice mixture first, preferably at home. To prepare the spice mixture, crush one teaspoon of toasted coriander seeds into a fine powder, and mix it with two teaspoons of Aleppo pepper or half a teaspoon of crushed pepper flakes(red), one teaspoon of sesame seeds(black), one teaspoon of toasted sesame seeds(white) and one teaspoon of kosher salt.

Roast four corns still in their husks, and 2 untrimmed leeks by placing them on top of embers.

Remove charred layers from the corn, and trim the leek roots.

Spread butter on them, and sprinkle some spice mixture.

Serve with quarter or half limes dipped in spice mixture.

2. Prairie Pate

Melt half a stick of unsalted butter in a pan, and add 3 kilogram marshmallows and ¼ cup honey into it. Cook until the marshmallows are melted.

Add half cup protein powder, and stir until the contents become smooth.

Off heat, add 2 cups of ordinary oats, one cup sunflower seeds, ½ cup of macadamia nuts chopped, ½ cup almonds (sliced), ½ cup cranberries (dried and sweetened), and 2 cups of crumbled large pork crackling pieces, and stir thoroughly.

Transfer the contents into a pan coated with non stick spray, and shape it using a spatula.

Serve by cutting it into even pieces.

3. Trout Wrapped in Bacon

Season the trout (6¼ – 16 ounce bone removed rainbow trout) with 4 Seasons Blend. Stuff it with herbs (one bunch parsley, one bunch thyme, quarter cup sage leaves), and wrap in one and a half pounds of sliced bacon.

Grill the trout until the bacon is crisp.

Serve hot.

4. Eggplant (Coal Roasted)

Place the eggplant on glowing red coals, and cook until the skin is charred.

Remove skin, and allow it to stand for 30 minutes to drain the excess water.

Serve by cutting it lengthwise.

5. Flax / Chia Seed Pancakes And Bacon

    (Recipe by Chris Morocco)

Make the pancake mix first. Mix a cup of flour with ½ wheat flour, three tablespoons of chopped brown flaxseed, two tablespoons sugar, one tablespoon chia-seeds, one and a half teaspoon baking powder, one and a half teaspoon of baking soda and a three-quarter teaspoon kosher salt. Put it in a resealable plastic bag.

Cook, or grill 12 ounces of bacon until browned.

Cook pancakes until golden brown.

Serve with maple syrup.
