Eno Hammock: Inside the Brand

0

Just imagine having a vision for your future that is strong enough to set you on a journey of escaping the traditional workplace and make hanging out your full time occupation. This is exactly what Enos founders, brothers Peter and Paul Pinholster did in the summer of 1999.

Eno Hammock: A Backstory

The brothers began a small operation in Florida planning to travel the East Coast in a ramshackle minivan and sell Hammocks at music festivals and community gatherings along the way. This was a journey when home was wherever the van was parked that night. Peter and Paul Pinholster dedicated their entire time to making and selling the most comfortable hammocks in the world. This meant having more work than they were able to handle form the minivan.

After settling down in Asheville, NC they continued growing the business into what is now a thriving company. Today, they continue to supply the best quality hammocks and accessories to like-minded people across the globe. Eno became a powerful name in the Hammock Industry and is also environmentally sensible because it attempts to reduce potential waste by using every bit of fabric available in production. This might mean the color combination of your hammock might vary from what is pictured, but hey it’s a small price to pay when it comes to protecting nature!

Eagles Nest Outfitters - SingleNest Hammock

You Will Love Your ENO SingleNest Hammock

If you are camping or hiking oriented but also prefer to enjoy the luxury of a Hammock in your backyard, then ENO SingleNest Hammock will be perfect for you. It is light enough to make the cut for your backpacking, camping or hiking trip, but robust enough for your backyard needs. The Eno hammock itself is a perfect size, lightweight, packable, and comfortable too, with more than enough room to spare. It’s a travel hammock…not a king size bed or one of those hammocks that come with a metal frame. The material, cord, binders and overall construction of the hammock are top notch. One word of advice, the Hammock is not insulated.

So if you are planning to use it in 60 or below, you’d want to have a very warm buffer between you and the hammock or a Eno HotSpot Sleeping Pad Sleeve that actually has wings which solves the common problem of slipping while also adding a bit more insulation to help you sleep comfortably while camping so you won’t be constantly wrestling the mattress pad throughout the night. It fits comfortably on a SingleNest as well as a DoubleNest Eno Hammock.

Eagles Nest Outfitters Guardian Bug Net

If you’re going to be staying outdoors you will want to rest peacefully in your hammock without the bother of bugs. To achieve bug-free environment you will need the Eno Guardian bug net.The Guardian net surrounds you and your hammock in bite-free peace of mind, without cramping your style. Eno developed this Bug Net because: “Kicking back in your ENO hammock is not the time for mosquitoes to chow down.”

If you think it might rain where you’re going it is wise to have your Eno SingleNest Hammock combined with the Eno Rain Trap, Eagles Nest Pro Fly. The main difference between Rain Tarp models is that they differ in size. They go from a minimal tarp over the top of you to a literal tent that completely encloses you. This specific model is a hybrid of both, going nearly to the ground which offers complete protection from the rain, yet allows a little breeze in. All in all this SingleNest Hammock is great for an individual that wants to control what they will put in their camping bag, tailored specifically to the journey. On the other hand if you want some extra space in your Eno Hammock so you can enjoy those starry nights in a pair, you might want to look into Enos DoubleNest Hammock.

Eagles Nest Outfitters DoubleNest Hammock

Are You Ready To Snuggle In Your Eno DoubleNest Hammock?

This Eno DoubleNest Hammock will be a favorite of the family. It is easy to set up and super-light to carry. With two-feet of extra width than the SingleNest, the DoubleNest allows room for one, two, three, or however you decide to pack, up to 400 lbs. The DoubleNest seats more than one person comfortably and is essential for family adventures. The DoubleNest still packs down to the size of a grapefruit, so there is no excuse to be without your Eno hammock. Take it anywhere, set it up in seconds, and lay back and enjoy! Straps are not included so you might want to look into Hammock Tree Straps!

Eagles Nest Outfitters - Atlas Hammock Suspension System

My favorite kind is the Atlas Hammock Suspension System. These two high-quality straps offer 30 combined adjustment points & a daisy chain design for total customization and comfort, making them ideal for hammocking anywhere! Each strap is 9 ft. long, allowing you to wrap it around big trees, rocks, or whatever is on hand. You will love these straps because of how easy and versatile they are to use. Especially because they will make your Eno DoubleNest Hammock super easy to put up and take down! No matter what the reason you will always enjoy using your Eno Nest. Year after year.

For especially avant-garde individuals Eno offers especially bright colors that pop-out in nature-environment. If you appreciate the blue/gray color, you will want to check out the Eno – DoubleNest Hammock, Teal/Charcoal. While still extremely light and packs into a very small space, it is stronger and heavier than most others available. The small additional weight comes from the use of superior components, such as the parachute nylon material, the use of carabiners, and the marine-grade cord that binds the end, but it also gives you more weight capacity, so you can hammock with a friend if you like. And the light blue color will definitely brighten your day!

Do not forget to get the Atlas hanging system by Eno in order to have the most versatile and convenient Hammock setup available.

With choices like these in store all you will need to do is plan the location of your next camping trip!
